Drawn to a relationship in New Mexico, in 2009, led to a deeper understanding and connection with Mother Nature, the Trees, Pachamama, and all that is connected beyond my immediate backyard. New Mexico is touted as “Land of Enchantment”. Indeed it is. The sacred spiritual connection I felt awaken, during my time there, continues to humble me.
I am grateful for the relationship that I had with my Partner of that time. It has been an ongoing relationship, regardless of my no longer living there, our no longer being together. Over the years since that time together, we found a way to be together otherwise. I can’t say that way always worked for both of us, or either of us. Yet, we stayed in touch. And that knowing that either of us could be in touch, was welcome to be in contact, in whatever way appealed to us at the moment, has been continually important.
Two days ago, I was notified of Her passing on. She was always one to be in touch with “God”, as well as the world of Nature and Spirit. While our connection has remained a somewhat tangible one, it was not as often as it could have been, perhaps should have been. Now, our connection will continue in spirit. I am grateful that connection does not end with her moving on from this physical Earth bound life. I am grateful that She will continue be available not only to me, but more importantly to Her children, grand children, other relatives, and so many beyond the confines of family. Many of us know that she is an Angel, in all respects. I honor her in that.
So, now I’m being drawn back to New Mexico. Though this time is for a visit to pay my respects to a very special person, once again I feel it to be a visit with greater personal reason for being there. I feel blessed for the calling. And, I will make the best of the time that I am there, spending it with Her family and the land She loved.
I invite you all to pay attention to your own callings to a special place, a special person, a special time. Notice that so often there is a much greater reason for you to be called into such an experience, than what seems to be the more obvious. Pause for a moment and FEEL. Let yourself sit quietly with the experience, that you might take away something much grander than just the immediate. Something that you not only carry through your life, moving forward, but are able to share with all you know and meet.
New Mexico, and my Dear, thank you for the invitation and continued blessings.
Walk with Me,
Peter J Quandt
