Taking down the walls that we build, removing the barriers we’ve
come to use for our defense system, is most often not as easy as it may
seem. In fact, at times, we may have taken down what we perceive to be
blocks we have contrived, in order to protect us from being hurt, only
to find that we inadvertently left one, or some, up. These will get
in the way of any valued relationship we take part in. Most
importantly, when at last we chance upon that special someone whom we
know we are meant to be with, we must not only be willing to drop all of
our guards, but actually do so. Clean house. Get them out of the way!
Otherwise, they will impede our growth together, albeit spiritual,
emotional, or physical. I speak from experience. I am now seeking to
take down any additional barriers that I may have acquired, over the
years. They are not necessary. They are not wanted
here. They are in the way. It’s time to let them drop. “I Give.”
Further, we must be prepared to forsake all others, in order to truly
be with our Partner, Significant Other, or however you want to title
your “special someone”. At times, this forsaking of
others should include putting out the word, in both the physical and
spiritual realms, that we are off limits, to anyone else. This can be
extremely beneficial, on our own focus, as well as letting other people
know that we have made our choice, and it is firm.
