Source of Life and Holding the Space

I intend this to be the only post made on this site, in regard to politics and this presidency. While I feel the current administration is rife with wrong thinking, wrong intentions and misguided egos, there is a greater disconnection with the Source of Life, which needs to be recognized. I only speak about this here because I feel it needs to be said and will mostly fall on deaf ears. This, if for no other reason than the distraction of the current circus, and its ring leader.

It is obvious to anyone who is at all paying attention that the current administration of the United States of America (and I refer to all who are mongering in the shadows as well as those in the spotlight) has lost the ability to be in touch with Nature and the life giving forces that allow them to even live on this planet. It appears that these people  have little or no residual sense of minding the greater effect of their actions on the very environment on which we all depend. We hear of trade deals and border dilemmas, alliances with countries with questionable intentions. We see the obvious conflicts of interest that have yet been fully taken to task. We see a circus of publicity, egotism, narcissism, politicism, greed and control of anything and everything that may show them to be what they are, and what they are doing, even to the point of attempting to shut off the voices of the scientists, environmentalists, and anyone that we rely on to give us an accurate picture of our standing in the environmental world. We hear of the intention to dismantle and “roll back” regulations put in place to protect the environment we ALL rely on for mere survival in this life.

Yet, we see, hear and feel nothing from these people which indicates a sensitivity to the frailty of our Environment, Nature, Gaia. There seems to be little indication that the current administration is at all in touch with what the loss of certain animal species and wildlife habitats means to the rest of the world. There seems to be no sense of value to preserving National Parks and Wilds, for our own benefit through personal connection to Nature and how Nature, in its pristine form, serves to maintain this planet in a habitable form. Rather, it seems that we are to be “gung ho” on more extraction of limited natural resources, using processes that continue to destroy the natural environment, our environment. It seems that this intention is being thrust on us with little regard to the fact that developing more and better forms of sustainable energy will not only provide jobs, but serve to create a system that has a more minimal impact on our source of Life.

The National Park system, and its work force, feel extremely threatened. These people recognize the importance of protecting the various Parks and the lands encompassed by them, if for no other reason than the sanctity of the special aspects of Nature found in each. Likewise, our very breathable, drinkable and edible environment feels at extreme risk, in the intention by this administration to roll back pollution restrictions imposed by the EPA and the scientific community in general. As well, the kibosh put on communications from the various fields of science and environment particularly threatens the continued research of these same fields, which we rely on for news of both the “State of the Earth” and the discoveries that continue to be made.

Aside from the obvious direction of the current political agenda, there is a personal agenda I feel is gravely misguided and disconnected. This agenda feels completely cut off from any connection to Nature and the Universe in general. We cannot expect that someone who lives in a concrete and steel edifice, travels by motorized transport and virtually never really sets foot in a garden for any other purpose than perhaps to make another deal, to have any sense of the importance of the Natural Environment on which we rely.

It is easy for us to take for granted the air we breath, when we have no sense of value to compare it to. For people who have lung impairments, every gasping, unaided breath taken serves as a reminder that they are clearly moments away from leaving this planet, without that which the rest of us take for granted. People who live in environments where their source of breath is polluted by man-made by-products suffer incredibly by the very air breathed through this toxic filter.

We take for granted our drinking water. In this country, the cities have many forms of filters and processes through which our water is treated, prior to reaching our supply. Of course, we know of places like Flint, MI, where there has been a break down of these systems and an ignorance of the dilemma that produces, by those in charge. There are so many countries and environments where the people rely on tainted water. There are many places, even here in the USA where people rely on bottled water for their potable water source. Yet, even these bottled supplies have their toxins, if in no other form than the bottles themselves. Some of us have the benefit of driving a short distance to fill up containers of water from a natural spring. We have some form of filter system attached to our water faucet or sitting on our counters.

Then, there is the pollution of the Seas, the Earth, which occurs as a result of carelessness of individuals and commerce. One should not eat fish pulled from many of the Lakes and Rivers, due to contamination introduced by one of any number of industries, and even residences. One should not grow consumable crops in many areas of the world and even this country, due to residues of past pollution existing in the very earth. Still, there are entities purposely polluting the Earth through “fracking” and other means of extracting minerals, gases and fuel oils.

So, when I hear of this current administration rolling back regulations put in place to protect our Environment, it is simply obvious that the people who would even consider such changes are completely out of touch with this Sacred Source. These same people are disconnected from the very sources that allow them to live on this Planet. These neighbors of ours have lost any respect for the “right to life” of the other people on this same Planet.

I cannot blame the collection of disconnects which serve this administration, for their lack of ability to know just what they do. For most, this disconnection from the Source happened early on in this life, if not actually lifetimes ago. As the convenience of the “industrial age” took form, most people were quick to jump on the wagon that makes life easier. Yet, this same wagon does not necessarily make life better.

There are so many of us in this generation that long for a simpler life, where people actually were a community that looked out for the welfare of each other. Many of us in this day and age seek to slow down the need to rush into a traffic jam of hurried travelers, in order that we allow ourselves to sit on the front porch of life and experience the life we actually entered these bodies to participate in. And, many of us know of ourselves in earlier times and lives where our connection with Nature was Sacred, Humbling and for the benefit of not only ourselves, but our community of travelers as well.

Many of us, in past lives, were looked to for guidance in this connection. For many of us, even in this lifetime, we realize the need for to step away from the confusion of modern lifestyle, in order that we be able to remain connected to this Sacred Nature. It is necessary to serve as a source of grounding, even conduits of the Universal Energies we know and experience. Yet, when we let ourselves get caught up in the clamor of day to day survival in this overly fast paced, negligent, society, we lose our abilities to “hold the space” for even ourselves, let alone so many others who are unable to and even unaware that they even need our grounding.

Mind you, I don’t speak of this calling to serve the general populace in this function in a whimsical way. Rather, I speak from the experience and knowing of that function. We all have our calling in this lifetime, that which we came here “to do”. Yes, we entered this lifetime for the experience of living in this human form. But, we also bring our own individual trade, or traits to the party. I invite you to reflect on the villages of times past, where each person added their specialty to the community.

We each bring our own gifts to this world. Teachers, writers, musicians, mathematicians, scientists, quilters, bee keepers, farmers, drivers, doctors, nurses, all. We need only take the time to sit with ourselves and witness what is our particular specialty, and focus on sharing that with the community. Yes, even those who are to be leaders (though they should be careful to not lose touch with who it is that is leading). And, of course, it is important to know our place, not letting our ego cause us to step into a position which does not serve the best interest of the community.

I, for one, could not best serve the community by being president of a country, for instance. My skills, gifts, calling come from Nature, Herself. Exactly how to share these gifts still often eludes me.

The current administration of this country seems to have no connection to Nature and the true Universal Source of life on this planet. I ask that those of us who do remain connected serve as a conduit for grounding and holding the space for the rest of our neighbors.

    Good observation.

Wow, that took a couple minutes!
The situation as I see it is this : half of the people in this country, for whatever misguided reason, opted not to vote in a truly momentous election (if they were unhappy with the candidates they could have voted for a third party; lack of viable third party compounds all other problems ). So the current president was elected by around a quarter of the electorate.
Mr. Trump is not actually the problem; he’s only the symptom. Around an eighth of the country thought that Mrs. Clinton was a good idea. Around an eighth of the country voted for her against their better judgement.
By these calculations, it appears that only an eighth of the country has any grasp of the realities facing them. Not good, not good.
Unfortunately, getting rid of Mr. Trump will not solve the actual problem.
