Let me tell you a Story, through Touch

Let me tell you a story.
Let me do it without words.
It’s the story of childhood innocence,
of singing with the birds.
Let me tell you a story,
without saying a thing.
A story of a grander heart, a holy love,
of a way of being for to sing.
With the touch of hand, a warm embrace,
I could share a divine tale.
A tale of all I know to be,
of a ship on the sea in full sail.
There is a way within me,
to share my very soul.
It can be done without voice, rather by look and touch,
it can be done with a gentle goal.
That goal would be to let you feel,
that which wells up deep inside.
Of love and kindness, sincerity and truth,
from a place found within us all, a place where Love abides.

Sometimes we fumble with words, wanting to express what we feel, to label it, put it in some sort of container, some sort of framework so that others can know and understand. Sometimes, no matter what we do or say, they won’t get it, get us. Sometimes, the best way to express ourselves is to touch someone, embrace someone, open our eyes to someone, that they be able to feel what we feel and even see into our soul. Sometimes, the best way for someone to truly know who we are and what we feel is first for us to know and feel the truth inside us, engage with how that feels inside us, and then share that feeling with another through touch.
